It has been a busy week in FarmVille. First up, there are some new decorations available for your farm in the run up to Halloween – you can add spooky trees (which cost coins) and hallow trees (which are only available for FV cash). They’re both limited editions, so if you like decorating your farm with one of everything or you’re a big fan of Hallowe’en then get those now!
And there’s a new trend in farm design that involves an optical illusion – if you stack your decorative items in the right way then you can make them look like 3D structures like pyramids. Have a look at this tutorial video made by one of my FV neigbors if you’d like to know how to do it:
The latest lost animal roaming the farms is the Pink Cow. Unsurprisingly (given the brown cows), the pink cows give strawberry milk – at 18 coins per milking. They’re also worth 18 coins if you sell them. There has been an ongoing discussion among farmville players about how exactly adopting a lost animal works. Sometimes when a lost animal notice is posted, only one person can adopt it. Sometimes several people get one before the animal is flagged as adopted. A couple of people have been running tests (!) and think they’ve cracked it – their theory is that if an animal is adopted but is left in the new owner’s gift box then up to 8 more people can adopt the ‘same’ animal; as soon as it is added into the farm then the adoption period closes. So if you’ve adopted an animal and you want to help your friends out, leave it a while before you place it on your farm.
And finally, FarmVille have created a special new crop – Sweet Potatoes – that is only available when you pay 25 FV cash – but half of the money collected is given to Sweet Seeds for Haiti, who support healthy and sustainable meals for kids and their families. What do you get for your 25 cash? A one week license to plant as many sweet potatoes as you can; each square planted costs just 10 coins and gains you 3 XP points. It takes 1 day to grow and the harvest earns you 125 coins. And sweet potatoes never wither, so you won’t have a wasted crop if you are late harvesting it. So sweet potatoes are definitely worth thinking about if you’re trying to speed up working through the higher levels.

Hi, I too heard the “rumour” about leaving an animal in the gift box so that other can get it. Well I have to say that tehy’re theory is not completely true (if at all). I haven’t taken part in an experiment, but I do know that whenever I see an animal up for adoption, I click to get it, then put it on my farm. I have noticed after I have done this, more people have said thanks to the person who found it, as they got it too. I also heard though, that 4 people can get it initially (not just one), but if the first person to click keeps it in their gift box, 8 people can get it instead. The bit they need to correct is the fact that the adoption is not over, once it’s placed on the farm. It ends when the amount allowed has been reached. I personally don’t see how it can work, as some people that are adopting are not even friends with others that adopt, so how would one know if the other had put it on their farm or not? 8) Hope this helps to the debate! Lol!
